We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Colin Woolway, founder of the Drumsense teaching programme and a much-loved member of the BRIT community. Colin had been playing and teaching drums professionally since 1976, with an extraordinary career spanning theatre, jazz, cabaret, variety, stadium tours and eight years with Suzi Quatro. He was also the author of the Drumsense books and DVDs and wrote a monthly column for Rhythm magazine for more than 20 years. For many years, Colin shared his knowledge, passion and experience with our students at BRIT, inspiring generations of young drummers, helping them to develop their craft and find their own musical voice. Thank you, Colin, for everything you gave to our students and the wider music community. Your passion, knowledge and generosity will be remembered by so many. Our thoughts are with Colin's family, friends, colleagues and all those who had the privilege of learning from him. #AlwaysBRIT

Ahead of Moana arriving in cinemas on 10th July, director Thomas Kail joined students for a special Q&A. From bringing Hamilton and In the Heights to the stage to directing for the big screen, Thomas shared insights into his creative journey, the making of Moana, and the values that have shaped his career along the way. Hearing directly from world-class creatives helps our students see what's possible, while giving them the insight, confidence and inspiration to forge their own creative paths. We're looking for a Teacher of Set Design to join The BRIT School. This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative and inspiring educator to help shape the next generation of theatre makers, designers and creative professionals in our Production Arts department. You'll teach students across model box construction, technical drawing, scenic painting, scenic design and CAD, supporting them from first ideas through to realised productions. For candidates with relevant experience, there may also be an opportunity to be considered for an Assistant Director role in Production Arts.
