  • Adam Hughes : Piano

    About Adam

Adam grew up in East London and started learning instruments aged 7. Having graduated BRIT school in 2018 he went on to study music performance and production at LCCM in Southwark to which he left with a 1st class honours degree.

Since graduating he has been teaching and gigging in the industry, picking up valuable experience and insight into what it means to be a young musician in the current landscape.

He currently leads a 6-piece jazz band called Hoos Collective who gig regularly around London. Much of the band's compositions come from him and he has a particular enthusiasm for writing and improvisation.

He finds a tailored approach best for his students and tries to encourage each of them to find their own unique voice within the genre that interests them. He specialises in jazz but has experience in pop, funk, soul and latin. He is a big advocate for learning by ear but also teaches sight reading and theory.
