On this lively course you will spend your time improving your technique in singing, dancing and acting skills through hard work, discipline and teamwork. If you are a versatile and open minded performer then you will fit right into this rigorous and vibrant course. 

You will explore a wide range of performing arts work and develop as both an artist and as a person. The course is designed to give equal focus to acting, singing and dance and the development of skills and knowledge in these performance disciplines. 

At Key Stage 4 you will study/learn on the Level 2 UAL Diploma in Performing and Production Arts (Musical Theatre):

  • Technique (Acting, Singing,Dance)
  • Performance Skills
  • Creative Skills
  • Professional Skills and Industry  Insight 
  • Research, Context and Digital Skills

The course offers skills and training in a range of areas which include:

  • Integrated: Bringing together the core skills and techniques necessary to develop as a Musical Theatre performer: Musical Theatre history, Song & Dance project; BRIT Fringe, Final Major Production
  • Acting: Working with text; Improvisation; Devising; Technique; Historical and Social Context of Drama to develop your acting and performance skills. 
  • Dancing: Technique; Jazz Dance; Choreographic Techniques; Ensemble Dance
  • Singing: Vocal technique; Musical Theatre Repertoire; Acting Through Song; Students work in both large and  small ensemble groups, as well as individually on solo material. 
  • Professional Practice: Careers in the Arts, Masterclass, Applied Theatre and Community Outreach; Production Arts Project
